Salem Academy of Magic

Welcome to Salem Academy of Magic, previously an all girls school (Salem Witches’ Academy) located in the forests of Massachusetts. Today Salem has opened its doors to male students as well as female, a milestone in the school's three hundred year history. This is a result of the attack suffered on the school by a secret, malignant group known only as the Ethereals. Their leader is a shrouded figure unknown to all but the most intimate members of the society, referred to as the Rogue. This group placed attacks all over the world on a single date: December 20th, 2044.

Not only were magical schools attacked, but individual Ministries as well. They managed to conquer some schools and countries, but America, Salem, and other American schools resisted. They are not the only ones. Great Britain and the magical school of Hogwarts, as well as some other European schools, are still standing. After the attack, the world has laid in wait for the next emergence of the Ethereals, who have seemed to dissolve into nothingness.

Salem did survive the attack, but the damages to the school were drastic. It had been strictly a girl's school for almost three and a half centuries, but it has now opened itself to male students. New arrangements had to be made to the school, including a name changed implemented by the American Ministry of Magic and its Council for American Magical Education. Salem is beginning to adjust, though it is a difficult change for long time staff and students. Currently the school is awaiting the start of the 2047-48 school year and the second full term inviting male students.
