Let me tell you of a world,
A world from the Book of the Dead.
Across this world roams the Myst
Slithering, pining, moaning...
Waiting.
It waits for the "perfect" one,
The one whose brilliance will burn the misery away.
Yes, this is the world of Valmordia. The world of the Myst.
The Myst that inhabits this once-peaceful land. It rolls across the oceans, caps the snowy mountains, and darkens even the hottest desert. It's watching. Waiting. Few have lived to hear the cries that it gives, heard only in story and fable...
If anyone's earned member of the month, Airu has earned it more than three times over. The other contestants have then gone missing and been found floating in a river. We're still working on that one.
The point is, even if Airu wasn't the wonderful role-player she is, she'd still get this. Believe me, for clinging on and giving us the delights of Marana and Cyra, she's earned it :D
No character of the month D:
This thread was started by Airu, and was chosen for ToTM for two reasons. One: well... Do we have any other IC threads...? *Cough*. But number two is the real reason! Let's face it: Airu is win. And this thread was nominated purely for that reason :D

steal images and we will take a needle to you, and believe me, those things can contain a helluva lot more than anaesthetic. after that... well, let's see what the likes of vanyel and dr. psylin can come up with, shall we?
These are the current 'prey animals', ranked from the easier creatures to those who are nigh impossible. Some require certain skills; others, certain objects. Most must be live catches... Others, you may get to exercise a few... specialised... skills. Please remember that all these creatures are found outside major cities, and so if you're a scientist in Theranse, you cannot even hunt Eldabe. Don't forget to read the ever-present guidelines. Any escaped experiments will be from the amber class up.
| LOWER CLASS | Difficulty N/A Monsters that are commonly found around Valmordia. Most of these are like rabbits: easily found, easily caught, and tallied in large numbers. Ç
Eldabe: Ç1 (Per 10 tails) - global - scrub & rural areas - rodent - A small, rodent creature, usually white or grey furred, with pink or blue eyes. Immigrated to Atropia, and eventually around the world, they are a global pest. Similar to a rabbit in shape, but with longer, pointed ears. They like burrows, generally choosing pre-made holes and generally getting eaten, when the owner happens to be home.
Tadern: Ç1 (Per 10 tails) - global - scrub & forests - rodent The tadern is much like the eldabe in appearance; it's small (though more of a rat than a rabbit), with a twitchety black nose and beady eyes. The ears are small and round, and the paws are soft-padded, with long, thick claws for grip. They have been known to climb trees to escape predators, but prefer to burrow. Their homes are occasionally stolen by an eldabe, but they don't seem to mind: indeed, they sometimes share. A popular prey of any avine or feline predator. Their pelts are soft and good for making winter coats.
| BLUE CLASS | Difficulty N/A Good to whet the appetite of a new bounty hunter, these creatures are fairly strong, but none too intelligent.
Vulture: Ç5 - oshuma & xiaden - all terrain - avine - I trust that, even on your world, you have vultures. These are slightly larger than yours, I think, as their wingspan is a good six feet from tip to tip. All vultures are black or dusky brown of feather, and have bald or faintly feathered heads; they're not attractive birds, and no-one mourns their loss. All feed on carrion, searching for their chosen prey from the skies, and are quite cowardly.
| AVERAGE CLASS | Difficulty 16 Creatures of moderate strength and a little intelligence come into the average class. These are the most commonly hunted creatures; they provide a fair bounty, and are not too hard for the experienced hunter to catch. If you're none too ambitious, have a bit of skill, and are down on cash, a successful catch will provide a decent cash lift.
Eagle: Ç20 (Dead) Ç30 (Pet) - atropia - alpine & scrubland - avine Ah, a fine, popular creature of heraldry, this one! They are most commonly sold by hunters as pets, and make fine hunting companions. Generally classified as being afraid of nothing, they soar with the thermals. Most eagles are of a dark brown colour, but some have a white head, others are golden, and some, the rarest and most popular pet, are completely white.
| GREEN CLASS | Difficulty 20 Despite what the name implies, the green class is not for the greenhorn. Any amateur would be severely beaten about by the creatures here, but one of skill would declare them good, if vicious sport. They fight like the devil, though are lacking in intelligence.
| GIFTED CLASS | Difficulty 28 Gifted class... Spoke in hushed tones by many as if gods, once. Now, softly speak, for fear they should hear. Though by no means fleeter nor of greater strength than their ghastly green-class cousins, the gifted class has intelligence that the lower classes do not, and in that way are more formidable.
| AMBER CLASS | Difficulty 32 Though less intelligent and certainly not as secretive as the gifted class, the amber class makes up for these minor defects in sheer brute strength. Only the best tackle these creatures.
| BLOOD CLASS | Difficulty 36 Few of the prey animals mentioned truly deserve the title 'monster', but the blood class is one of them. These creatures are hunted by none; they are found, accidentally. And to do so without the proper equipment? Suicide. They live for blood, they kill for pleasure it seems, and their only desire is that which they can destroy.
| BLACK CLASS | Difficulty 40 Few know anything about the black class. They are more a dragon of myth than a lizard of fact... Not that they are all reptiles. But the black class has all the mystery, the strength and the sheer aura of terror that surrounds their name to merit a thousand nightmares. In fact, they probably are just that: the stuff of nightmares.

Naturally, to become a hunter you must apply. There are various branches that you can apply in; there is on in every main city, and especially around where the pests themselves congregate. Here, apply so that we can add you to our lists. Your character will be assigned a class level based on what is said in their profile, but also on how many people there are in each class. Struck-through is restricted. (If you have a canon of that class, they're probably already up.) Guidelines & Rules.

Say your character is a bounty hunter, and you want to set them on a chase for some extra Chaos. For the average class and up, the NPC < BOUNTY > will post as the monster. The bounty hunter will actually have to set a trap (or give chase), and kill the monster before any Chaos will be allocated, with the animal being role-played by the NPC account.
If you want to know how a successful hunt will be decided, this is how. The 'dice' code from Wonder of ProBoards support will help determine the likelihood of a successful catch/kill. The NPC will post in the bounty board, with the name of the hunter and their skill in the title, so that you can see the results of the dice roll. An average class monster has a difficulty of 16. Therefore, in order to kill a creature of average level, the dice has 16 sides. Depending on the bounty hunter's skill, (0 to 16) a number will be added to this. The higher the number rolled, the more successful the hunt. If the number is higher than 8, (just above half the difficulty level) the monster will eventually be killed. If it is 8 or lower, then it will escape. In order to capture the monster alive, if the hunter wishes, the final number must be higher than 12 (3/4 of 16).
So, here are the equations: X = Skill

| AVERAGE CLASS | To Kill: Input: 16 + X If the total is 9 or greater, kill is successful.
To Capture: Input: 16 + X If total is greater than 12, capture is successful. ( 3/4 of 16 = 12 )
| GREEN CLASS | To Kill: Input: 20 + X If the total is 10 or greater, kill is successful.
To Capture: Input 20 + X If total is greater than 15, capture is successful. ( 3/4 of 20 = 15 )
| GIFTED CLASS | To Kill: Input: 28 + X If the total is 14 or greater, kill is successful.
To Capture: Input 28 + X If total is greater than 15, capture is successful. ( 3/4 of 28 = 15 )
| AMBER CLASS | To Kill: Input: 32 + X If the total is 20 or greater, kill is successful.
To Capture: Input 32 + X If total is greater than 26, capture is successful. ( 3/4 of 32 = 26 )
| BLOOD CLASS | To Kill: Input: 36 If the total is 24 or greater, kill is successful.
To Capture: Input 36 + X If total is greater than 29, capture is successful ( 3/4 of 36 = 29 )
| BLACK CLASS | To Kill: Input: 40 + X If the total is 26 or greater, kill is successful.
To Capture: Input 40 + ( X / 2 ) [In the event of an odd skill number, the decimal is rounded down.] If total is greater than 30, capture is successful ( 3/4 of 40 = 30 )[/blockquote][/blockquote]
