COMMON OCCUPATIONS | HARDER | FASTER | GREATER |
Any jobs common around the world fall into this category. They are generally accepted as 'normal' jobs.
Animal Trainer Naturally, it is the job of an animal trainer to train animals. They usually specialise in pets, teaching them to jump through hoops and not to pee on the new carpet and whatnot. A good trainer makes a fairly decent living, but as few people have time to care for their pets, the idea is becoming obsolete. Requirements: Pay: $50 - $200 a head, per lesson.
Animal Tamer As an animal tamer, these are infinitely less common, and generally buy their animals from a decent bounty hunter. It requires strength, patience, and determination to tame any animal, and scars are often a feature. Either way, the rich will pay handsomely for a well-trained animal, and a good tamer can make a living off of even the smallest creature. Sometimes the animals are passed on to a trainer for the more refined work. Requirements: Having completed apprenticeship with a tamer. Pay: $100 - $3000 a head.
Architect It is only fair to say that a good architect is not a compulsory part of building. However, they do get pretty well paid for the drawings they do. Architects are few to be found, but most people will pay well to have their new home designed in style, and as such there is pressure on their shoulders. Bad work follows them everywhere, so everything must be perfect. They develop quite a perfectionist complex in this work. Requirements: Full education, skill with technical drawing, creativity. Pay: $500 - $2000 per project
Artist Naturally, it is the task of an artist to... well, produce art. They barely manage to scrape by, if common knowledge is to be held as truth, and sometimes take up a secondary occupation to pay the bills. Once an artist is well-known and loved, however, it is another story. These artists' pieces are often famed, hot topics among high society, and an almost common-place feature of any good museum. Even if the tremendous amounts these are paid for works or commissions couldn't keep them out of the red, all the parties they would be invited to would surely feed them. Sadly, it is only in death that most artists attain this degree of adoration. Being a maggot-ridden corpse is generally not accepted as a suitable trade for eternal fame. Currently, there are no artists of extreme note... Other than former Oshuman Lilian Hawken... But we don't talk about her.
Armourer It must be obvious what the task of an armourer is. In the more historically-minded cities, such as Gurea, the
